NIGEL KENNEDY'S CONTRIBUTION TO CLASSICAL MUSIC

That this House congratulates Nigel Kennedy for the contribution he has made to attracting young people to great works of classical music by eschewing the starched shirts which have alienated so many people from the works of classical composers; welcomes his frequent performances on BBC Radio 3 and elsewhere which are so popular with the public; and applauds his highly successful discs and public performances of violin concerti and other works which have generated so much income for the economy of this country.
