ASSISTANCE FOR LLOYD'S NAMES

EDM number 979 in 1990-91, proposed by Jim Sillars on 18/06/1991.

That this House is astonished and appalled by reports that the Labour front bench are to support the special pleading of Lloyd's 'names' to have taxpayers meet their huge insurance gambling losses; and suggests that if they look around at the social devastation wreaked by 12 years of Tory government such government expenditure would be better directed to services such as housing, education and relief of poverty.

This motion has been signed by a total of 6 MPs.
