Answer To Adjournment Debate (14th June)

EDM number 982 in 1990-91, proposed by John Gorst on 18/06/1991.

That this House notes that, despite having available to him one third of the time for the Adjournment Debate on Friday 14th June, the Minister of State at the Foreign Office failed to respond to a single matter of substance raised by the honourable Member for Hendon North; regrets that the important issues of human rights, the sanctity of marriage, administrative insensitivity, blemishes in immigration procedures and incompatibility with international obligations were all ignored; and further regrets that an opportunity was lost for the Government to explain and thereby bridge the gap between government convenience and popular sentiment.
