Twinning Of Rochdale Mbc And Sahiwal

EDM number 145 in 1991-92, proposed by Keith Vaz on 13/11/1991.

That this House recognises and commends the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale and in particular Councillors Abdul Hamid Chowdry, David Williams, Mary Moffit, Paul Rowen and Pamela Hawton for their hard work in developing and maintaining an extensive exchange programme with the District City of Sahiwal in Pakistan; and considers that their unique twinning arrangement has directly benefitted the people of Rochdale and of Sahiwal.
