Homelessness And Older People

EDM number 165 in 1991-92, proposed by Ronnie Fearn on 14/11/1991.

That this House notes with grave concern the estimate in a recent report published by Age Concern that in London alone there are around 2, 000 people over the age of 50 years living on the streets and in the hostels of the capital city; believes that the problem has been compounded by the low level of funding given to resource the care in the community programme; and calls upon the Government to introduce a statutory duty on all local authorities to develop policies to meet the housing needs of people covered by community care programmes.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
