EDM number 167 in 1991-92, proposed by Ronnie Fearn on 14/11/1991.
That this House is concerned that the Government's right to buy policy has led to a depletion of council housing stock, leaving local authorities unable to invest in new social housing; and calls upon the Government to increase the percentage of council house and land sale receipts that can be utilised by a local authority from 25 per cent. to 75 per cent. to enable proceeds of council house sales to be invested in the provision of new housing or the renovation of existing property.
