Direct Rail Services From Leeds To The Continent

EDM number 180 in 1991-92, proposed by Keith Hampson on 15/11/1991.

That this House, recognising that Leeds and Bradford forms the largest urban population in England outside London and is the most significant business and commercial centre in the North of England, believes that it is vital for the future growth of the area and for investment in the region that there are direct passenger rail links with the continent via the Channel Tunnel; finds British Rail's reluctance to agree to such links totally unacceptable; and calls on the Chairman of British Rail to think again.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
