Karvol

EDM number 194 in 1991-92, proposed by John Cummings on 19/11/1991.

That this House expresses concern and alarm over the action of Boots in not placing warnings on the nasal vapour Karvol to draw the attention of parents that the use of Karvol could cause apnoea in very young babies; further notes that the Department of Health failed to issue guidance when the licence was granted to make and sell Karvol and now refuses to state when the licence was issued; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government immediately to amend the terms of the licence so that the appropriate warnings and advice are displayed on the packaging of Karvol and that Boots display such warnings as a matter of the utmost urgency.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
