Recognition Of The Independence Of Slovenia

EDM number 215 in 1991-92, proposed by Dafydd Wigley on 20/11/1991.

That this House, noting that 90 per cent. of the Slovene people have voted for independence, that Slovenia is a homogeneous state without territorial disputes or minority problems, and that following the withdrawal of the Yugoslav Federal Army the Slovene Government is in complete control of its territory, believes that Slovenia's future lies as an independent country within a stable framework of free European nations, and calls on Her Majesty's Government to accord full recognition of Slovenia's independence forthwith.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
