U.s. Congressional Initiatives On A Nuclear Test Ban

EDM number 325 in 1991-92, proposed by Frank Cook on 04/12/1991.

That this House welcomes the progressive submission to the United States Congress on 29th October by house majority leader representative Richard Gephardt and representative Mike Kopetski, supported by 111 other co-sponsors, of HR 3636, draft legislation for a Nuclear Testing Moratorium Act; believes that the United Kingdom should play its own constructive part in redirecting resources away from nuclear weapons following the political and economic collapse of the Soviet Union; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to inform the United States Administration that it supports HR 3636 and wishes to discontinue forthwith United Kingdom use of the Nevada nuclear test site.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
