Coastguard Services

EDM number 465 in 1991-92, proposed by Andrew Welsh on 13/01/1992.

That this House notes with concern the dramatic cuts proposed to Her Majesty's Coastguard Service in Scotland; considers the cuts to be totally unacceptable; supports the campaign by the coastguard auxiliaries to stop them, accepting their view that current proposals will restrict the ability of the service to react effectively to certain emergency situations; and therefore calls for the present staffing and equipment levels to be maintained.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
