Debate On Nuclear Deterrence And The Honourable Member For Clackmannan
EDM number 485 in 1991-92, proposed by Margaret Ewing on 15/01/1992.
That this House, while being used to obfuscation and the avoidance of issues, notes that the honourable Member for Clackmannan, Labour Shadow Cabinet Defence Spokesperson, in a speech lasting 18 minutes and covering four columns of the Official Report of 14th January, did not once mention the United Kingdom Trident strategic deterrent; regards this as a unique example of evading a crucial subject; and believes that his silence will not pass unnoticed in Scotland, where he will not be allowed to dodge the issue in the coming General Election campaign.
This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
