Future Of Westwood Hospital, Bradford

EDM number 702 in 1991-92, proposed by Bob Cryer on 18/02/1992.

That this House calls on the Secretary of State for Health to ensure that there is adequate consultation by the District Health Authority over the proposed closure of the excellently situated Westwood Hospital for the mentally handicapped; recognises that the hospital provides an oasis of calm and peace not available in community care and that patients and relatives appreciate the high standards of care available; and condemns the absence of adequate consultation as a cynical betrayal of the most vulnerable members of society and their caring and concerned relatives.

This motion has been signed by a total of 28 MPs.
