STATE OF STRATHCLYDE REGIONAL COUNCIL'S SCHOOLS

That this House is appalled at the blatant neglect of the Government in failing to answer the call of Strathclyde Regional Council for more finance in order to deal with dilapidation in its schools, given that disrepair is so bad that a recent report suggests the immediate closure of 70 schools in order to assure the safety of pupils, teachers, and other employees; and demands emergency action by the Government so that Strathclyde Regional Council will have the much needed resources to educate pupils to the national average standard.
