TELEVISION COVERAGE OF CRICKET'S WORLD CUP

That this House appreciates the efforts of B Sky B to offer its viewers a wide range of the best of sport and its right to negotiate an exclusive contract to televise cricket's World Cup live in this country; but believes it would be against the long-term interests of B Sky B to anger many viewers by failing to arrive at a commonsense commercial arrangement with the BBC to allow the Corporation to show recorded highlights, thus reciprocating the summer arrangement whereby B Sky B broadcasts evening summaries of the BBC's live ball-by-ball transmission.
