Drug Abuse In Strathclyde

EDM number 74 in 1991-92, proposed by Jimmy Wray on 05/11/1991.

That this House is aware of the deep concern in Scotland and in Britain as a whole at the growth of drug abuse and trafficking; is particularly worried at the destruction of peaceful community life and crime escalation created by drugs trafficking and abuse in Strathclyde; believes that it is urgently necessary to support the efforts of Strathclyde local authorities, teachers and police to control these damaging and unlawful activities; calls upon Her Majesty's Government immediately to provide the necessary resources to these organisations; but also demands a complete reversal of Her Majesty's Government's strategies for housing, the economy and social affairs which have so much contributed to the weakening of the moral and social fabric of community life in the last 12 years.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
