Scotland, Northern Ireland And The Union
EDM number 740 in 1991-92, proposed by John D Taylor on 25/02/1992.
That this House regrets the inconsistency of the Conservative Party which commits itself to defend the Union with Scotland without equivocation when 50 per cent. of the people of Scotland approve the Union, whereas it is not prepared to defend the Union with Northern Ireland without equivocation even though less than 25 per cent. of the people of Northern Ireland oppose the Union.
