BIRMINGHAM'S ANTI-POVERTY CAMPAIGN IN SCHOOLS

EDM number 820 in 1991-92, proposed by Robin Corbett on 05/03/1992.

That this House congratulates Birmingham City Council on its anti-poverty project work in selected schools to help teenagers from all social backgrounds to make informed decisions; notes that it is exactly in line with the national curriculum and cross-curriculum guidelines NCC 4 to 8; and further notes the relevance of such a project at a time of record and rising unemployment, record house repossessions, mounting debt and with half of Birmingham's population living in, or on the margins of, poverty.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
