Western Park, Leicester

That this House notes the importance of preserving parklands for recreational use and not allowing encroachments, however worthy, for commercial profit; notes the deep concern of people in the area of Western Park in the constituency of the honourable Member for Leicester West and the proposal for a world life centre to be built in Western Park; recognises additional dangers and inconvenience which would be caused by traffic brought to that area by such a commercial venture in Western Park; expresses its concern that the environment in the area should be preserved; and calls for the world life centre project to be sited elsewhere than in Western Park.
