Broadcasting Fairness During The General Election

EDM number 847 in 1991-92, proposed by Donald Anderson on 11/03/1992.

That this House considers that, during the period of the election campaign, the BBC and ITV be asked to cease broadcasting extracts from or reviews of the Press since such extracts and reviews would inevitably reflect the Tory bias of the Press and thus effectively amount to a party political broadcast on behalf of the Conservative Party.

This motion has been signed by a total of 29 MPs.
