Birmingham Hospital Closures

That this House calls on the Secretary of State for Health to take whatever action is necessary to ensure that the people of Birmingham do not have to suffer the withdrawal of services from the Birmingham Accident Hospital, the Woodlands Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, the Sorrento Maternity Hospital and the Women's Hospital because of the multi-million pound budget shortfall forced on South Birmingham Health Authority, the causes and details of which have been withheld from the public but which appear to be associated with mismanagement in the former Central Birmingham Health Authority, which amalgamated with South Birmingham last year.
