Free School Transport In Norfolk

EDM number 1113 in 1992-93, proposed by Simon Hughes on 16/12/1992.

That this House supports the campaign by Norfolk parents against the cutbacks in free school transport imposed by Norfolk County Council and condemns the late notice given to parents of children affected; further understands the concern of parents whose children walk along dangerous roads to get to school with steadily increasing traffic flows and vehicles weights; and further notes that the Audit Commission in its report, Home to School Transport - a System at Cross-roads, published in June 1991, recognises the value of expanding home to school transport with a view to ensuring that councils are required to ensure that children have a safe passage to school in the most efficient, cost effective and environmentally sensitive way.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
