PARENTS' CONCERNS ON EDUCATION
EDM number 1265 in 1992-93, proposed by Malcolm Bruce on 27/01/1993.
That this House notes the concern of parent groups throughout the United Kingdom at the speed and lack of clear direction of Government reforms and the lack of genuine consultation with parents; specifically calls on the Secretary of State for Education to follow the example of Scotland where confrontation over pupil assessment has been resolved by listening to parents' concerns; and further recognises that parents throughout the United Kingdom want their views to be taken into account on the presentation of statistics on school exam results.
This motion has been signed by a total of 36 MPs.
