Greater Manchester Ambulance Service Industrial Relations (No. 3)
EDM number 1275 in 1992-93, proposed by Terry Lewis on 28/01/1993.
That this House demands that the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of Mr Peter Alan Green from the Greater Manchester Ambulance Service be fully investigated; notes that in his letter to the Secretary of State for Health, 18th January 1993, Mr Green draws attention to a meeting, held prior to an industrial tribunal, between the Bury Area Health Authority District General Manager, Mr Bacon, the Greater Manchester Ambulance Service General Manager, Mr Lucas, and the Greater Manchester Ambulance Service Director of Manpower, Mr Clitheroe, at which it was decided to dismiss Mr Green and others 'whether guilty or not' of charges laid against them; notes with incredulity that to ensure their desired outcome they agreed to take a cheque book to the tribunal; believes this conspiracy to be wholly reprehensible; and demands that those responsible for this unsatisfactory state of affairs be held, very urgently, to account.
