Standing Order No. 39 (Divisions Unnecessarily Claimed)

EDM number 1636 in 1992-93, proposed by Bob Cryer on 17/03/1993.

That this House believes that the rapid voting procedure under Standing Order No. 39 (Division unnecessarily claimed) brings the House into disrepute; notes that no record of names is taken, thus denying the element of accountability of honourable Members to their constituents; and urges the Select Committee on Procedure to examine this serious anomaly.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
