Eyesight Tests For Deaf People;amdt. Line 4:

EDM number 2188A1 in 1992-93, proposed by Paul Flynn on 23/06/1993.

at end add 'notes that between three per cent. and six per cent. of born deaf people have Usher syndrome, a genetic condition which leads to loss of sight through retinitis pigmentosa in young adulthood and which, if detected early enough, can be successfully treated; further notes recent research from Gallaudet University for Deaf people in the United States that highlights the significant additional eye strain for hearing impaired people; and condemns the inadequacy of the Minister of State's answer to a parliamentary question on the subject tabled by the honourable Member for Newport West informing the House that he has 'no plans' to restore these tests.'.

This is a ammendment to 2188.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
