That this House notes the involvement of the Union of Democratic Mineworkers in investing its members' money in strike-breaking companies and the recent announcement of ú4.5m losses by these companies; finds it abhorrent that a trade union should act as an unprincipled profiteer, making a fast buck out of the destruction of other people's jobs; notes that the Union of Democratic Mineworkers still conceals the nature of its investments behind the front of holding companies; and calls on the leadership of the Union of Democratic Mineworkers to give a full and open account of where their members' and ex-members' money has gone.
