Conduct Of The Honourable Members For Stockton South And Langbaurgh;amdt. Line 1:

EDM number 233A1 in 1992-93, proposed by John Sykes on 11/06/1992.

leave out from 'House' to end and add 'congratulates the honourable Members for Stockton South and Langbaurgh for their clearly successful and popular initiative in arranging a meeting for heads of schools to find out more about grant-maintained status; welcomes the news that the Labour Party frontbench spokesman has accepted that grant-maintained status has positive benefits for schools, children and parents; notes that this recent change of heart has not yet percolated to Labour Party backbenchers; welcomes the upsurge of interest in grant maintained status since the General Election, particularly in Cleveland where the local education authority has previously made clear its intention to victimise any school seeking to find out more; and suggests that the honourable Members for Stockton North, Redcar and Hartlepool arrange a further seminar at which the honourable Member for Blackburn can familiarise local Labour honourable Members with the concept of grant-maintained status.'.

This is a ammendment to 233.
