That this House protests at the arrest and imprisonment in Brussels of Mr Amanullah Khan, the leader of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front; believes he was arrested by the Belgian authorities as a result of an arrest warrant issued by the Indian authorities through Interpol; notes Mr Khan was invited to Brussels by the Socialist Group of the European Parliament to participate in an international conference convened to discuss how to secure a peaceful political settlement to the escalating conflict in Kashmir; further notes the Indian Government declined an official invitation to attend the conference; and urges Her Majesty's Government to press the Belgian authorities to release Mr Khan immediately.
