MEMBERS' SALARIES AND JOB CREATION

EDM number 2551 in 1992-93, proposed by Frank Field on 01/11/1993.

That this House believes that honourable Members should receive no increase in salary in the coming year, that the money saved should be used for job creation payments, thereby establishing the link between the size of pay increases and the numbers in work, and that honourable Members should be given the opportunity soon of setting their pay to come into force after the next general election.
