leave out from 'Government' to end and add 'to recognise that Imperial Tobacco Ltd. did not give poster advertising sites to the Conservative Party as claimed, but nevertheless acknowledges the right of any company to take legitimate steps to defend its legal commercial activity against threatened action by a political party; and furthermore invites the Government to accept that its policy is to oppose the draft EC Directive to ban tobacco advertising, preferring to rely on the United Kingdom's well tried, flexible and practical system of voluntary agreements.'.
