Thomas Cook Ltd (No 2)

That this House welcomes the prompt response by Messrs. Thomas Cook Ltd. to Early Day Motion No. 378 and in particular its decision of 3rd July that the firm will in future make no charge for the exchange of ú sterling notes issued by banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland into Bank of England ú sterling notes; welcomes this decision by Thomas Cook Ltd. to treat all citizens of the United Kingdom and ú sterling notes within the United Kingdom as equals in rights and values, respectively; congratulates Thomas Cook Ltd. for its review of a policy which had caused concern in both Scotland and Northern Ireland; and trusts that all other banks in England will provide the same service to United Kingdom citizens from Scotland and Northern Ireland.
