ROYAL SOCIETY OF CHEMISTRY'S PARLIAMENTARY LINKS DAY

EDM number 445 in 1992-93, proposed by Michael Clark on 07/07/1992.

That this House congratulates The Royal Society of Chemistry on organizing the 1992 Parliamentary Links Day; applauds the Society's unique and pioneering Parliamentary Link Scheme which provides Right honourable and honourable Members on all sides of the House with a means of access to information and background briefing on issues involving chemistry; notes that Parliamentary Links Day is designed to help bring Members of Parliament and the scientific community closer together; further notes that this event is particularly well timed in view of the new governmental arrangements for science, the creation of the new Office of Science and Technology presided over by the Minister for Public Service and Science, and the readiness of the Government to consult the scientific community about science and technology policy; and believes that the Society is to be congratulated upon its initiative in seeking to promote science on the Parliamentary agenda.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
