The Derbyshire Police And The Daily Express

EDM number 47 in 1992-93, proposed by Chris Mullin on 13/05/1992.

That this House notes that the headline in the Daily Express of 28th April, Assassin Magee Breaks His Cover, refers to a man who has not yet been arrested let alone tried; wonders if any lessons have been learned by either the Derbyshire police or some sections of the media from the recent serious of miscarriages of justice involving persons wrongly convicted of terrorist offences; and further wonders what action the Attorney General is proposing to take against those responsible for this headline.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
