West Midlands Regional Health Authority

EDM number 554 in 1992-93, proposed by John Spellar on 24/09/1992.

That this House notes with alarm the sums wasted by the West Midlands Regional Health Authority on consultants; and while welcoming the appointment of Sir Roy Griffiths to examine the regional health authority, calls for his brief to be extended to the wider questions of its management particularly the proposed construction of a super hospital, on the Queen Elizabeth site, the closure of other sites, notably the Neurosurgical Hospital, Woodland Orthopaedic and the Birmingham General, and the position of its chairman Sir James Ackers.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
