Action Against Dereliction

EDM number 575 in 1992-93, proposed by Peter Hardy on 19/10/1992.

That this House considers that very urgent action must be taken by Ministers to ensure that reclaimed land which was previously contaminated can be developed; and notes that very considerable sums of public money may have been devoted to reclamation in a number of localities and that even where the necessary work has been completed to standards of the highest quality development will continue to be prevented or seriously inhibited, and the investments so far made sterilised, without that provision of indemnity and assurance by Her Majesty's Government which should not be further delayed.
