That this House, appalled at the decision of the University of Glasgow Department of Neuropathology to collaborate once again with the University of Pennsylvania Head Injury Clinical Research Center in a five year programme involving mini-pigs, guinea-pigs and rats, despite worldwide condemnation in the recent past of the well documented abuse and the callous attitude of scientists from this center towards animals, calls on the Secretary of State for the Home Department to withdraw any project licences in force for this research programme at Glasgow; and urges him to bring pressure on the University of Glasgow to end its collaboration with and to dissociate itself from the center.
