Building And Fire Regulations Scotland

EDM number 648 in 1992-93, proposed by Bill Walker on 26/10/1992.

That this House believes that the Building Regulations and Approved Document B Fire Safety 1992 Regulation in England and Wales may reduce fire safety; welcomes the Government's cautious response to fire safety in Scotland, where the Scottish Office do not propose substantial changes to the periods of fire resistance or compartmentation size as currently required in Scotland; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Scotland to carefully monitor the effect of the changes in Engand and Wales concerning the concessions for sprinkler installations before introducing any changes in Scotland.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
