European Parliament Vote On Coal Mining

EDM number 699 in 1992-93, proposed by Jacqui Lait on 29/10/1992.

That this House notes with pleasure that in the European Parliament on 27th October a Motion critical of the Government's policy on coal mining was defeated, in spite of the present left-wing majority in the institution; welcomes speeches in support of the Government from many nationalities represented in the Parliament; and notes that this will be a disappointment to Mr Arthur Scargill, who had travelled to Strasbourg for the event.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
