Anniversary Of Sardar Patel

That this House notes the 117th anniversary of the birth of Sardar Patel and the celebration which was held by the Sardar Patel Memorial Society (UK) at Battersea Town Hall on 31st October; recognises the enormous contribuiton he made for Indian independence and the unity of India; recalls his appointment at Deputy Prime Minister of a free India in 1947; and acknowledges the deep reverence and affection in which he is held by so many people throughout the world.
