Thailand

EDM number 88 in 1992-93, proposed by David Steel on 19/05/1992.

That this House condemns the brutal suppression of public demonstrations in Thailand by the military government; recalls that the present regime overthrew the democratic government last year; and calls on Her Majesty's Government in pursuit of its good governance policy to raise the matter in the United Nations Security Council and to discourage all further British trade and tourist links with Thailand until democracy is restored.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
