Metro Extension In Tyne And Wear

EDM number 89 in 1992-93, proposed by Roland Boyes on 19/05/1992.

That this House believes that the Metro in the Tyne and Wear should be extended as a matter of urgency to Sunderland, Washington and other districts in the City of Sunderland; recognises that the City of Sunderland has made a major contribution to the implementation of the Metro and yet is getting little advantage for its investment; and calls upon the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Authority, the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive and the Department of Transport to provide all assistance for achieving the early objective of the Metro extension.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
