Attorney General Of Albania

That this House greatly regrets the arrest of the Attorney General of Albania, Mr Maksim Haxhia, as he was about to depart on a trip from Albania to the United Kingdom; deplores the fact that he is going to stand trial on a spurious charge, framed contrary to protections in the Albanian Constitution; calls upon Her Majesty's Government to make the strongest possible representations to the Government of Albania to secure Mr Haxhia's release; and looks forward to a fruitful relationship between the United Kingdom and Albania once full civil and political rights are guaranteed in that country.
