Ball Green Primary School And Remembrance Of The Titanic

EDM number 1027 in 1993-94, proposed by Joan Walley on 14/04/1994.

That this House congratulates the children of Ball Green Primary School, Stoke on Trent, who have worked so hard to discover the history of the British luxury passenger liner the 'Titanic' and her captain, Captain Smith, from Stoke on Trent; wishes them well in their commemorations on 15th April to remember the tragic loss of 1513 lives 82 years ago when the 'Titanic' sank en route to New York from Southampton during her maiden voyage; applauds the subsequent many improvements to merchant shipping safety legislation which have been introduced following the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea called in 1913 in the aftermath of the 'Titanic' disaster; and recognises the continued importance of ever-improving ship safety standards.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
