JUNIOR DOCTORS' HOURS IN SCOTLAND
EDM number 1076 in 1993-94, proposed by Maria Fyfe on 20/04/1994.
That this House notes the statement by Dr Peter Bennie, Chairman of the BMA's Scottish Junior Doctors' Committee, that doctors are working a higher number of hours than Scottish Office figures show; and therefore calls upon the Secretary of State for Scotland to conduct a thorough investigation into the hours worked and plan accordingly to reduce hours to a maximum of 72 per week by 31st December.
