Conduct Of The Honourable Member For Liverpool, Mossley Hill;amdt. Line 1:

EDM number 1105A1 in 1993-94, proposed by Archy Kirkwood on 22/04/1994.

leave out from 'House' to end and add 'welcomes the stand taken by the Right honourable Member for Yeovil and the honourable Member for Liverpool, Mossley Hill, against corruption and financial incompetence in Liverpool City Council; moreover welcomes the news of the delivery of the long-awaited report by KPMG Peat Marwick into the ú5 million losses made by Liverpool City Council on a cable television contract to Liverpool City Council on 26th April; notes that efforts were made to prevent the publication of an earlier draft by the Liverpool Echo and that a High Court judgement declared that it was in the interests of citizens on the eve of an election for the Liverpool Echo to be able to publish its story; therefore calls on the Labour Leader of the Council to support the sentiments of the Judge and publish the report forthwith, except those parts which would prejudice the Council's case against any individuals or firms which may have defrauded the people of Liverpool; believes that this affair and many others call into serious question fiscal rectitude and probity; and has every confidence that the people of Liverpool will judge for themselves to what extent corruption has blighted their City in the 11 years of uninterrupted Labour rule since 1983.'.

This is a ammendment to 1105.
