Kim Housego And David Mackie
EDM number 1394 in 1993-94, proposed by Max Madden on 27/06/1994.
That this House is delighted Kim Housego and David Mackie are alive and well; condemns without reservation those responsible for their kidnapping in Kashmir; believes there can be no justification for gross human rights violations by whomsoever they are perpetrated; fears escalating state terrorism in Kashmir will inevitably lead to escalating non-state terrorism; and urges Her Majesty's Government to intervene at the highest level to persuade the Indian Government to stop human rights violations by its security forces in Kashmir and to enter into genuine and unconditional dialogue with the Government of Pakistan, and the emerging political leadership of the people of Kashmir, under the auspices of the United Nations, to secure a lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir, which is based firmly on the principle of self-determination.
This motion has been signed by a total of 41 MPs.
