Blockade Of The Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia

EDM number 1452 in 1993-94, proposed by John Cummings on 05/07/1994.

That this House views with concern the decision of the European Court of Justice not to grant to the European Commission an injunction against Greece in its blockade of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia; notes the increasingly detrimental effects the embargo is having upon the economy of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia which threatens the fragile stability of this most vulnerable region which has avoided the bloody conflicts in the surrounding region; condemns the unilateral action of Greece, a member of both the EU and NATO; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to take more positive measures against Greece until the embargo is lifted and until meaningful discussions take place to have this matter resolved in a peaceful and constructive manner.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
