leave out from 'notes' to end and add 'that on 20th July 1974, Turkey invaded Cyprus ostensibly in accordance with the terms of the 1960 Treaty of Guarantee; notes however that, when constitutional order was swiftly restored a Turkish army of occupation remained in control of 37 per cent. of the island in direct contravention of the Treaty of Guarantee; deplores Turkey's action in 1974 in expelling 200,000 Greek Cypriots from their homes in occupied Cyprus, and since 1974 in continuously colonising occupied Cyprus with Turkish nationals, to the point where these now probably outnumber the Turkish Cypriots whom the Turkish occupying army purports to protect but who have in fact emigrated en masse from the island; further deplores any suggestion that a referendum of the present ethnically engineered population of occupied Cyprus could be taken as the freely given consent of the Turkish Cypriot population; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government, whether under the auspices of the United Nations Secretary General or by other necessary means, to work for a solution to the Cyprus problem which respects the rights of all the citizens of the Republic of Cyprus, as recognised by the whole international community with the exception of Turkey, be they of Turkish, Greek or other ethnic origin.'.
