Aids Awareness

That this House notes that World Aids Day was on 1st December, that currently HIV/Aids is estimated to be infecting 5,000 people a day world wide, and that if current trends continue 40 million people will be infected by the year 2000; notes that much of the Spread of this epidemic is entirely preventable through health education, promotion of safer sex and the use of condoms; calls on the Government to actively promote and resource this vital work; and congratulates the organisations involved for their excellent work in raising Aids awareness.
